“We play a fresh take on pop-rock music,” Ryan exclaims in The Summer State documentary, produced by Vadbibes. If or when you get your hands on their self-titled EP, you’ll be able to distinguish among the echoing vocals and heart-thumping arrangement, that there’s some truth to what Ryan said. It was a congregation of friends, families and music paramours outside the Homeclub. These scattered clusters of blithe chatter signalled an eager wait for the doors to open for The Summer State’s EP Launch last Saturday afternoon.
Adorned with shiny silver helium balloons and garlanded with soft decorative lights, the Home Club seemed like it was all set for a romantic evening for lovebirds. Only it was in fact far from that. It was set for a joyful affair for self-branded ‘spectorgaze’ outfit, Obedient Wives Club, for the official launch of their disturbingly-named second EP – “Murder Kill Baby”.
